How to Make a Wedding Card with Katie Skilton form Sizzix

Hello… I am back with Three Sizzix shows on the 22nd November at 3pm, 6pm and 9pm.  I will be featuring some of my favourite die sets from this year all designed by My Life Handmade. Today I want to share a quick tutorial using one of these die sets - Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Wedding by My Life Handmade. Materials: Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Wedding by My Life Handmade Cardstock Adhesive Stones Method; Step 1 Create a card blank by folding and scoring dark grey cardstock.  Trim the peach strip to go down the centre of the card and a panel of white and grey. Step 2 Add all the layers to the card and add the main panel using 3D foam pads. Step 3 Die cut the cake in three colours and the Mr & Mrs sentiment. How to Create a Festive Gift Tag with Sizzix by Katie Skilton

Hello… I am looking forward to being back on Hochanda on the 9th November and bringing you some of your festive favourites! I will be bringing you a variety of dies from Bigz to Thinlits. Today I want to share a quick tutorial with you, looking at how to create a gift tag and makes those festive gifts a wow factor. Materials: Sizzix Bigz Die - Reindeer Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Tags Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Holiday Words Cardstock Patterned Paper Distress Ink - Walnut Stain Mica Spray - Bronze Pipe Cleaner Twine Method: Step 1 Die cut 2 tags and layer together to make it firm.   Step 2 Die cut the reindeer and add Distress Ink.  Spritz with the Mica Spray and heat dry.   Step 3 Trim strips of card and die cut the words, distress with Distress Ink.   Step 4  Distress the edge of the tags and adhere the Reindeer using 3D foam pads.  Back the letters onto go...

Step-by-step Project Using Mixed Media Dies from Sizzix by Katie Skilton

Hi there… Next week I am back with a Sizzix Tim Holtz inspired show. I wanted to share a quick tutorial with you using the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Mixed Media #2. This is one of many die sets that we will be featuring on the show on Tuesday 1st November! Let me know what you think... Step 1 Die cut 3 circles.  Two the same size and one a size larger. Step 2 Take one of the two circles and die cut the mixed media flowers into the centre. Step 3 Layer the circles together. Step 4 Trim a strip of coordinating cardstock and layer onto the card blank. Step 5 Adhere the circle to the card using 3D foam pads and add a stamped sentient. This is a very simple way to use the Mixed Media dies. A great idea of course, is to use them to add backgrounds to your cards.  Add ink and paint to them for art journals or use them in your scrapbook layouts! How to Make a Sizzix Nautical Card by Katie Skilton

Ahoy there! Today I want to share a project with you from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Ship Mates that will be featured on the Sizzix show on 27th October. I am looking forward to bringing you some of your favourite dies. Nautical themed projects are currently very popular and so I have designed a card that would also make a lovely picture for a home decor project. Step 1 Trim 3 layers of cardstock, slightly smaller than the card blank. Step 2 Die cut a circle into the centre of the white panel and create a circle frame so that the aperture is the same size as the one in the white panel. Step 3 Trim a light blue panel and adhere a strip of dark blue. Step 4 Adhere the blue panel behind the aperture using 3D foam pads.  Attach all the layers together and adhere the frame to the front. How to Make the Perfect Gift Box with Katie Skilton

Hello… As we hit the final few months of the year it is time for Sizzix to release the final chapter for 2016 - Chapter 4. This means I will be bringing you some exciting new releases on my Hochanda shows on the 18th October. One of my favorites from this Chapter is the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Every Occasion. This creates a beautiful gift box and I am going to show you how easy it is to create. Step 1 Die cut 2 of the gift box bases from patterned paper. Step 2 Die cut the bow elements. Step 3 Using a strong double sided tape adhere the box together. Step 4 Using hot glue adhere the bow together. Step 5 Trim a strip of coordinating paper and wrap around the centre of the box. Step 6 Wrap twine around the centre of the trip of paper and adhere the bow to the box. This is a perfect die set for so many occasions and of course you can use the bow on my other projects too. How to Make a Snowflake Tri-fold Card with Katie Skilton

Hello… Have you started to think about your Christmas crafting yet? Today I want to share a project made using one of the latest dies from Sizzix - Tri-fold Card, Snowflake. This beautiful intricate die will create a card with clever folds and beautiful designs as quickly as you can run it through your Big Shot! Materials: Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Tri-fold Card, Snowflake Cardstock Gems 3D Foam Pads Wet Glue Method: Step 1 Die cut the main card element. Step 2 Die cut the large snowflake in the centre and trim out of the card. Step 3 Adhere the snowflake over the one cut into the card. Step 4 Die cut all of the other chose elements. Step 5 Layer the snowflake together using 3D foam pads. Step 6 Layer the wording and adhere to the card. It really is as simple as that. You can be making beautiful, intricate...
