Stamp Addicts Join Hochanda

We were so pleased to see the lovely Sarah and Vicky, aka, Stamp Addicts, back on TV.  Their products are beautiful, and it was great seeing their idea's and inspiration. So, when I had a little rummage in the warehouse, the Stamp Addicts stamps literally jumped out at me.....honestly. I'll do a few postings with the lovely stamps and hopefully show you some more idea's. First, have a look at the stamps by following this link: Stamp Addicts The collections I choose first, were the Small Winter Wonderland, the Banners set and the Greetings. I created my background first, by just cutting a scrap piece of card into a "hill" shape - this doesn't need to be perfect.  I used distress inks to shade very gently up to the hill template.  The top hill I distressed a large area above the template which will work as my sky.  I mixed a couple of shades together to get a blend.  It hardly looks like any ink has transferred, until I moved my hill template.  Mo...

Graphic 45 - frame card

Good afternoon blog surfers.  Today's post is all about making dies work for us to create our own aperture cards - easily. First of all I used a set of decorative square dies, please follow this link for the dies: decorative square dies Choose your cardstock that's going to be the top layer.  Cut this to the size, and then decide where you wish your aperture to sit.  Play with this, as you are not restricted to where you place your aperture, or indeed how many apertures you decide to have.  Cut this out first. I then embossed it, using one of the Creative Expressions embossing folders - the one I used for my card is called Sparkle Squares, but the one you see here in the picture is Floral Stripes.  Emboss after you have die cut, otherwise you will flatten the embossing: For the lovely embossing folders follow this link: floral stripeEmbossing Folders I love embossing folders.  There's so many ways to use them, and they are so incredib...

Traditional Christmas Card

Welcome back to the Hochanda blog.  Yesterday I promised I would give another take on the heart wreath stamp from Chloe .  When buying craft supplies, it's important to attempt to get different finishes, and therefore get real value for money - I think this is why I enjoy stamping so much.  Just this one stamp has given me so many idea's.  And let's face it, that can sometimes be our stumbling block. For this card I also used the snowflake background stamp from Chloe.  This is a very pretty stamp, and the snowflakes are so delicate yet intricate.  First I used my Versamark ink pad.  The versamark pad is one all stampers should own.  You can use it with your embossing powders or your mica powders - but it also acts as a "watermark" pad.  This means, it will produce a watermark effect when stamped on your card.  This creates a lovely background, subtle and sophisticated. This doesn't work on all card, you will find if a card has a...

Chloe's Stamps

Hi again, Jenny here with another card I made using the lovely Heart Wreath stamp from Chloe.  I wanted to show how versatile this stamp is, and how different it can look.  The first time I used it was with the MDF (see earlier post), but this time I used it with my gold embossing powder and distress inks: I stamped and embossed on card and then inked around the edges using my distress ink.  I spritzed it with water, to allow the inks to move and blend.  Whilst the paper was still quite damp, I created the creases at the top and bottom of the image.   Using the Cosmic Shimmer coloured PVA, I've added a little texture, and when dry they keep their shape, so look like faux pearls. The edge of the card has been created using the edge of the stamp. Please pop back tomorrow, where I've used the heart in another variation.  If you would like to pick up some of Chloe's stamps, please follow this link: chloe's stamps Thank you for sto...
