The Hochanda family are pleased to announce that tickets for the popular Crafting at Ally Pally event are now available online from www.hochanda.com and not only that, but we are also giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets to the event via our Facebook and Twitter channels. Read on for more info!

Crafting at Ally Pally is now in it's 20th year, and the event is taking place on 9th and 10th April 2016. It's one of the largest and most popular paper-craft shows in the UK, and offers those with a passion for crafts, hobbies and arts an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of crafts!

Can you believe the award-winning Crafting at Ally Pally event welcomes up to 8,000 craft enthusiasts through its doors every year? The event, put on for both beginners and experienced crafters, offers visitors the chance to browse the thousands of arts and crafts products available from popular UK retailers, and watch live demonstrations by the UK’s most prevalent crafting experts including our own Sue Wilson and John Lockwood, from Creative Expressions, Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps, and Robert Addams from Papercrafts to name but a few.

We're supporting the event with Creative Expressions, as well as taking two prominent stand positions to showcase a variety of crafts through demonstrations, and we will be broadcasting three shows LIVE direct from the event at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Over the event weekend visitors will have the opportunity to meet and greet our presenters such as Alex Turchyn, Matt Macnarma, Charlie Hopkins and more. Also joining Hochanda at the Crafting at Ally Pally event, will be Leonie Pujol. We're so excited to meet all you crafting fanatics there!

Barbara Gray - Giveaway

Who caught the wonderful demonstrations from Barbara Gray on Sunday, and again yesterday?  Barbara inspired us all, as ever, and we had some busy shows.  Barbara even jumped onto the phones to help with a customer query!  That's the beauty of having our customer services and order line in house - and brilliant guests who are happy to have a natter to our callers. Barbara has also, generously, donated one of the pieces from the show, as a giveaway on todays blog post. Isn't it beautiful.   If you would like a chance to win this masterpiece, then all you need to do is leave a comment on this post, and someone will be picked at random tomorrow evening. Good luck everyone. Tune in to Hochanda every day 24/7 for lots of fun and crafty demonstrations! Meet the Presenter - Matt MacNamara

1.      How did you first get introduced to crafts? I’ve always loved craft and had such great respect for anyone who makes and creates crafty items. At craft fairs it is always me that holds up everyone else in the group while I chat to the people on the stalls about what they have made. My wife Karen, or Mrs M, is very crafty too. She’s into the classic decoupage, upcycling old boxes and furniture. She also makes her own jewellery and I sometimes help her run the stalls at craft fairs.. 2.      What have been your highlights so far on Hochanda? We have a very talented pool of guests, so there is always something so creative going on in the studio, so honestly, every day is highlight. I’ve also had the good fortune to have tried several crafts for the first time ever. It’s pleasantly surprising to discover that to be a good crafter you don’t necessarily have to be artistic, you just need to be imaginative and creative. We all have our own...
