Saturday card candy

Good morning crafters, we hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

We apologise for not posting any give-aways to the blog in a few days - it's been very busy here at Hochanda, with lots of new shows planned, and exciting times ahead. However, we didn't forget the Saturday Blog Candy!! We actually have two beautiful cards to give away: The first one is from John. This is such a rich card, with all those wonderful metal flakes, and that subtle print in the background. I also love the way John has used the dies. So elegant.

The second beautiful card we have for you, is from Dawn, and this again, is so pretty.  I love the Magnolia stamps, and this has been teamed up with subtle papers, and lovely floral embellishments.

If you would love to have a chance at winning either of these cards, it's nice and easy, simply pop your comment below, and you will be picked at random.

Thank you, and good luck.

Tune in to Hochanda every day 24/7 for lots of fun and crafty demonstrations! Watch our programmes live >

  1. Hello Hochanda

Well great that we have two chances to win a card today.

Always love what John creates and this card is no exception. He has a way of creating with little effort and no complication!

The card from Dawn is gorgeous and so different. I would love to make something similar for a special little girl in my family.

    Keep up the great blog.

  2. I would be simply thrilled to win either of these creations. Thanks much.

  3. Great inspirational cards. Well my credit card went into meltdown during the Creative Expressions Takeover Weekend, then followed by a John Lockwood One Day Special - well it just gave out! Two more weeks to pay day, but lots of lovely goodies on their way to me so that I can play.

  4. Afternoon, just fantastic cards and so enjoyed watching the shows. Would love to win one of these cards.

I have learnt so much watching the shows so a big thank you from me to you all at Hochanda.

    Much love,

    Shirley T.

  9. Both very pretty in their own way.

  10. Id love to have either of these two cards for inspiration!
John's are always so elegant and perfect too, a really blow the recipient away card! And dawns is really cute, more the usual style of card I've tried to make in the past, as I have a few of magnolias stamps!
I must say tho that both are well above my current standard so it would be good to see up close what I should be aiming at!
I'm loving the shows, spending far too much, and my now very familiar delivery man comes almost daily!!

  11. Two gorgeous cards. I would love the chance to win either. Hugs Jackie

  12. Two very different cards, but both beautiful.

Debbie Shore's Threaders Project 4: Japanese Knot Bag

This stunning bag is actually very simple to make, and can be made as large or as small as you like! Try making it up in different fabrics, denim, faux leather or even silk, which would look lovely when embroidered as an evening bag! Use a 1.4” seam allowance.

Materials needed:
• 2 pieces of patterned fabric measuring 19” x 25”
• 2 pieces of lining fabric measuring 19” x 25”
• 2 pieces of fusible fleece measuring the same

1: Cut a curve around the bottom edge of each piece of fabric and fleece.

2. Turn one of the patterned pieces to the wrong side and draw a line each side, from the top, 4” from the side and 12” from the top. Using a 12” circle template, join the lines to make a curve.

3. With the patterned fabrics right sides together, cut around the curved line. You’ll see two handles forming. Measure 8” from the top of one of the handles and cut across.
