How to Make Festive Gift Boxes with Katie Skilton

If you are anything like me you still have Christmas cards to make and things to decorate the home. That is why I am back on the 1st December at 8pm and the 2nd December at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm to give you some last minute festive inspiration.

I have some beautiful dies to bring you along with the One Day Special.

One of the dies I am bringing to you is the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 7PK - Box, Pillow & Poinsettias.  This is a beautiful die for creating gorgeous gift wrap and table gifts.

Here is how to make it:

  • Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 7PK - Box, Pillow & Poinsettias
  • Patterned paper
  • Cardstock
  • Glitter washi tape
  • Twine

Step 1
Die cut 2 of the pillow box sides from patterned paper.

Step 2
Using strong double sided tape adhere together.

Step 3
Wrap the wash tape around the centre of the box.

Step 4
Die cut the poinsettia as shown.

Step 5
Piece together the poinsettia.

Step 6
Wrap twine around the box and add a bow.  Adhere the poinsettia.

These are so quick and simple to make and the best part is you can use the box and the poinsettia for separate projects too.

Until then …

All team members did a fantastic job of ensuring everything was prepared and ready for everyone who attended the show, to have an enjoyable, interactive experience from the very entrance. We can't keep it to ourselves just how amazing the two day craft show was, so even if you did miss out this time you'll still feel apart of it with what were are about to show you!

With large space to walk about freely, craft lovers had the chance to glance around their favourite craft stalls, sign up to Make and Take's to attend later on in the day and grab a cake and coffee ready for our first show of the event to begin.

How To Give Used Candle Jars A New Lease Of Life

Hello again everyone, I have a completely different post for you this time!

I keep buying all this ‘stuff’ and it’s so nice I can’t bring myself to use it … but it’s starting to get out of control and taking over my home!!
So I’m challenging myself on 2 levels – 1) use up my stuff; and 2) try something new.

Well I had some empty candle jars so I thought this would be a good way to use up some stuff and try something new at the same time and this is what I came up with.

I am over the moon with the results as it’s the first time I’ve tried anything like this.

What I used: ·Empty candle jar ·Decoart white gesso ·Starlight paints ·Decoart metallic paints ·Imagination Crafts rice papers ·Imagination Crafts fabric glue ·Twine ·Raffia ·Hessian ·Ribbon ·Paper flowers and embellishments from craft box
Here’s what I did:
Firstly, I applied a coat of white gesso to the jar and allowed it to dry. I then chose a selection of paints that go together and randomly sponged all over the jar until it was covered. T…
