How to Create a Festive Gift Tag with Sizzix by Katie Skilton

I am looking forward to being back on Hochanda on the 9th November and bringing you some of your festive favourites!

I will be bringing you a variety of dies from Bigz to Thinlits.

Today I want to share a quick tutorial with you, looking at how to create a gift tag and makes those festive gifts a wow factor.

  • Sizzix Bigz Die - Reindeer
  • Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Tags
  • Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Holiday Words
  • Cardstock
  • Patterned Paper
  • Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
  • Mica Spray - Bronze
  • Pipe Cleaner
  • Twine

Step 1
Die cut 2 tags and layer together to make it firm.

Step 2
Die cut the reindeer and add Distress Ink.  Spritz with the Mica Spray and heat dry.

Step 3
Trim strips of card and die cut the words, distress with Distress Ink.

Step 4
Distress the edge of the tags and adhere the Reindeer using 3D foam pads.  Back the letters onto gold card and adhere to the tag.  Add the pipe cleaner.

Step 5
Thread twine through the top and tie the twine in a knot.

Hope you like this little project.  It will certainly add detail to any gift!

For more festive  inspiration join me on 9th November at 10am, 1pm & 5pm.

Until then…

Our first ever live roadshow at Create It, Kent Event Centre was a huge success! On behalf of all our team members at Create It- from producers, buyers, to TV operations and TV presenters, we had a great time.

All team members did a fantastic job of ensuring everything was prepared and ready for everyone who attended the show, to have an enjoyable, interactive experience from the very entrance. We can't keep it to ourselves just how amazing the two day craft show was, so even if you did miss out this time you'll still feel apart of it with what were are about to show you!

How To Give Used Candle Jars A New Lease Of Life

Hello again everyone, I have a completely different post for you this time!

I keep buying all this ‘stuff’ and it’s so nice I can’t bring myself to use it … but it’s starting to get out of control and taking over my home!!
So I’m challenging myself on 2 levels – 1) use up my stuff; and 2) try something new.

Well I had some empty candle jars so I thought this would be a good way to use up some stuff and try something new at the same time and this is what I came up with.

I am over the moon with the results as it’s the first time I’ve tried anything like this.

What I used: ·Empty candle jar ·Decoart white gesso ·Starlight paints ·Decoart metallic paints ·Imagination Crafts rice papers ·Imagination Crafts fabric glue ·Twine ·Raffia ·Hessian ·Ribbon ·Paper flowers and embellishments from craft box
Here’s what I did:
Firstly, I applied a coat of white gesso to the jar and allowed it to dry. I then chose a selection of paints that go together and randomly sponged all over the jar until it was covered. T…
