Wedding Table Decorations with Creativ Company

Hi there Crafters! It's been an absolute joy having the lovely Jill Ablas from Creativ Company at Hochanda today. We love the product so much that we have got our hands on an amazing project for you!

An artificial wedding cake made from white boxes which are glued together, just to jazz up your table decorations on your big day. Decorated with artificial sugar balls made with a Pearl Pen and flowers made from textured paper, it the perfect addition to your table. Small boxes with satin ribbon, decorated with the same flowers as the the cake, which you could even use as favour boxes.

Step 1

Print and cut out the template which is available as a separate PDF file for this idea. Draw the outline of the template onto textured paper. Here we have made approx. 30 flowers in four different sizes.

Step 2

Roll each flower/snail shape around a pencil as shown.

Step 3

Put a small blob of glue in the middle of the flower as shown and tighten the petals.

Step 4

Secure the rolled up petals onto the lower part of the snail with glue.

Step 5

Assemble the boxes and tie a satin ribbon around each box. Decorate the top of each box with a glued-on flower.

Step 6

Remove the lids of the three largest boxes and cover the outside of the boxes with coloured textured paper, using VTR Glue. Put the lids back onto the boxes and glue the boxes together with the largest one at the bottom. Glue the flowers onto the boxes like a vine from the top and down.

Step 7

Use a Pearl Pen for making sugar balls/icing around the edge at the bottom of each box. Leave to dry.

How to Make a Glittery Star Using the Vivi Gade Paper Star Strips

We're thrilled to welcome Lotte  Littau, the co-founder and co-owner of Creativ Company to Hochanda this week. She's travelled all the way from Denmark to bring you incredible shows across three days, showcasing the Christmas paper range from Creativ Company. Lotte will be bringing you lots of demonstrations throughout her shows on how you can use all of these beautiful papers to create a Scandi Christmas this year. Here's just one of the projects Lotte will be showing this week...  Step 1. Half two 2.5cm wide paper star strips. Now only use three of the four paper star strips. Step 2. Double over each of the three paper star strips and cut all the ends at an angle. Put a star strip around another star strip and fold it tightly three times around this star strip. This is illustrated in the picture. Repeat this process with the other two star strips. Step 3. Assemble the three paper star strips over and under each other, forming three do...

Barbara Gray - Giveaway

Who caught the wonderful demonstrations from Barbara Gray on Sunday, and again yesterday?  Barbara inspired us all, as ever, and we had some busy shows.  Barbara even jumped onto the phones to help with a customer query!  That's the beauty of having our customer services and order line in house - and brilliant guests who are happy to have a natter to our callers. Barbara has also, generously, donated one of the pieces from the show, as a giveaway on todays blog post. Isn't it beautiful.   If you would like a chance to win this masterpiece, then all you need to do is leave a comment on this post, and someone will be picked at random tomorrow evening.
